I have always been a writer

Marlize Venter - Author

I have vivid recollections of sitting in the sun in the window in one of my childhood homes in South Africa and writing poetry.  Later, my mum gave me her old typewriter and I typed away loudly till late at night writing novels  that stayed in the bottom drawer.

At Uni, while studying law, I would write notebooks full of poetry.

Writing has been a constant companion throughout my life.

While working at a legal expenses insurance company in South Africa I helped draft training manuals while working at the training academy as a facilitator.

In 2008 we moved to Australia and I created little short stories for my little boy.  Later I co-wrote a book on immigration that was available as an e-book, and I published my first book of poetry, titled Net Genade.  Since arriving here I blogged on immigration, helped others create content for heir websites, and have two books in the final stages before publication.  They are titled Coffee at Jo’s and Haai, Johanna!
